December 29, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $3,119,239 or $0.14 per common share for the six months ended October 31, 1998 compared to a net loss of $2,184,356 or $0.09 per common share for six months ended October 31, 1997.

December 7, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today announced that it has initiated a Phase I human clinical trial of MBI 226, its lead antimicrobial peptide, for the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients undergoing central venous catheterization.

October 27, 1998 - Vancouver - Mr. William J. (Bud) Foran, Chairman of Micrologix Biotech Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Avery to the Company's Board of Directors.

September 29, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $1,429,814 or $0.06 per common share for the three months ended July 31, 1998 compared to net loss of $951,375 or $0.04 per common share for three months ended July 31, 1997.

September 24, 1998 - Vancouver - On September 27, 1998 Micrologix Biotech Inc. (MBI) will present three papers at the 38th annual Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) in San Diego, CA.

August 10, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $5,381,255 or $0.23 per common share for the year ended April 30, 1998, compared to a net loss of $3,690,898 or $0.18 per common share for the year ended April 30, 1997.

June 22, 1998 - Vancouver - Research by Micrologix scientists and their collaborators at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre has demonstrated in vitro that Micrologix' peptides kill tumor cell lines responsible for several important human cancers.

April 1, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $3,559,221 or $0.15 per common share for the nine months ended January 31, 1998 compared to a net loss of $2,622,100 or $0.14 per common share for nine months ended January 31, 1997.

February 11, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia and the Protein Engineering Network Centres of Excellence (PENCE) today announced the signing of a four-year agreement to co-develop novel antibiotics based on proprietary technology discovered at the University of Alberta.

January 27, 1998 - Vancouver - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued U.S. patents No. 5,707,855 and No. 5,688,767 covering the composition of a new antimicrobial compound under development by the Company, and the use of this compound to kill bacteria.
