December 12, 2000 - Vancouver, December 12, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, December 12, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported financial results for the second quarter and first six months of fiscal 2001.

December 11, 2000 - Vancouver, December 11, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today that it has been selected by Standard & Poor's (S&P) to be added to The Toronto Stock Exchange 300 Composite Index (TSE 300). This inclusion will be effective as of the close of business on December 14, 2000.

November 28, 2000 - Vancouver, November 28, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today the initiation of a Phase Ib clinical trial for MBI 853NL, a novel drug candidate for preventing hospital-acquired infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), including methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). The trial, anticipated to be completed in the second quarter of 2001, is designed to further establish the safety and to quantify the anti-S. aureus activity of MBI 853NL at escalated doses.

November 7, 2000 - Vancouver, November 7, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today the initiation of a Phase II clinical trial in the United States for MBI 594AN, a novel drug candidate for the treatment of acne. The trial is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2001.

September 20, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, September 20, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today the initiation of Phase III clinical trials in the United States for MBI 226, its novel lead antimicrobial drug product. The trials are designed to demonstrate whether the drug reduces the incidence of life-threatening bacterial and fungal bloodstream infections related to the use of central venous catheters (CVCs) in seriously ill patients. The results of the Phase III studies will be used in support of a New Drug Application for marketing approval of MBI 226 in the US. (Conference Call Webcast)

September 12, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, September 12, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a loss of $1,752,766 or $0.05 per common share for the three months ended July 31, 2000, compared to a loss of $1,983,171 or $0.09 per common share for three months ended July 31, 1999.

August 30, 2000 - Vancouver, August 30, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today that it has received approximately $8.6 million pursuant to the exercise of warrants and after-market support options for the purchase of 3,509,667 common shares.

August 9, 2000 - Vancouver, August 9, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors has adopted a Shareholder Rights Plan. The Rights Plan is effective immediately and is subject to regulatory approval and ratification by shareholders at the Company's Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 7, 2000.

July 26, 2000 - Vancouver, July 26, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. has completed a US Phase I human clinical trial demonstrating the safety of MBI 853NL, an antibiotic drug being developed for the prevention of hospital-acquired infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Micrologix will present the results of this study to the FDA and intends to initiate the next phase of clinical trials in the fourth quarter of this year.

July 18, 2000 - Vancouver, July 18, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $8,659,873 or $0.32 per common share for the year ended April 30, 2000 (“Fiscal 2000”), compared to a net loss of $6,506,709 or $0.28 per common share for the year ended April 30, 1999 (“Fiscal 1999”). The net loss for the three months ended April 30, 2000 was $2,975,910 or $0.10 per common share compared to a net loss of $1,776,559 or $0.08 per common share for the same period in 1999.

June 28, 2000 - Vancouver, June 28, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. has successfully completed a Phase I human clinical trial of MBI 594AN for the treatment of acne. The study showed that MBI 594AN is safe, well tolerated and has antimicrobial activity against the acne-causing bacterium, Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes).

June 8, 2000 - Vancouver, June 8, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia and the Harbor-UCLA Research and Education Institute (REI) of Torrance, California, an affiliate of the UCLA School of Medicine, today announced the signing of a worldwide exclusive licensing and co-development agreement related to a novel antimicrobial peptide technology created by a team of scientists at REI.

May 4, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, May 04, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $5,683,963 or $0.22 per common share for the nine months ended January 31, 2000, compared to a net loss of $4,730,150 or $0.21 per common share for nine months ended January 31, 1999.

March 31, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, March 31, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today reported a net loss of $5,683,963 or $0.22 per common share for the nine months ended January 31, 2000, compared to a net loss of $4,730,150 or $0.21 per common share for nine months ended January 31, 1999.

March 20, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, March 20, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. today closed the $40 million financing announced on March 8, 2000. A total of 4,000,000 special warrants were issued at a price of $10.00 per special warrant. Each special warrant entitles the holder to acquire, at no additional cost, one common share of Micrologix. The syndicate of underwriters co-led by TD Securities Inc. and Yorkton Securities Inc. included RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Goepel McDermid Inc. and Canaccord Capital Corporation.

March 8, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, March 8, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. is pleased to announce that it has agreed to a $40 million financing with a syndicate of underwriters co-led by TD Securities Inc. and Yorkton Securities Inc. and including RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Goepel McDermid Inc. and Canaccord Capital Corporation.

February 15, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, February 15, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. has initiated a Phase I clinical trial in the US of MBI 853NL, a potential new treatment to prevent hospital-acquired infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), including methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). Micrologix plans to complete the trial which will assess the safety and antimicrobial activity of MBI 853NL by mid-2000 and to initiate Phase II trials during the second half of the year.

January 24, 2000 - Vancouver, CANADA, January 24, 2000 - Micrologix Biotech Inc. is pleased to announce it has initiated Phase I clinical trials in the US to evaluate the safety and antimicrobial activity of MBI 594AN in the treatment of acne. Micrologix plans to complete the trials by mid-2000 and to initiate Phase II trials during the second half of the year.
